RSS is used by web sites to summarize their recent changes or additions or whatnot in a simple, standardized way that can be read by a spectrum of programs and services, which combine many of these RSS “feeds” in a way similar to Livejournal’s “friends” page. It’s nifty as all get-out. If more of Nick’s friends used it, he could ditch livejournal and stick with CmR:FrontPage. Nick’s friends can use it or not, but he’s still decided to ditch livejournal.
