Extremely talented Native American writer whose work ranges from traditional lit-fic and poetry to urban fantasy (or “magical realism”, if you prefer) and occasionally science fiction. His Reservation Blues is ranked second or third on Nick’s top books of all time (after X-Sturgeon and sometimes Kay Boyle’s The Crazy Hunter). His Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven was made into a movie titled “Smoke Signals”
