One of the great lesbian folk singers. Her album Not a Still Life had a pretty serious market sure in Nick’s childhood listening practices. She sounds great by herself with an acoustic guitar and really, really weird when plugged in and/or backed up.
Freshman year, Dan inexplicably agreed to come see her perform live at the Stone Soup Coffeehouse in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Her horrible sense of humor more than her music exercised its universal appeal on him. (See “Quotes” below.)
