Nick and Dan over the course of several years spent considerable effort devising a doorstop that would not suffer from the defects of the traditionalk friction-based wedge design. The doorstop r&d cycle featured at least three primary models. Doorstop 1.0 involved several hangers and a bullwhip; Doorstop 1.5 involved only two hangers, and Doorstop 2.0 was a Peets tea tin.
