Unlikely Glossary Project
Olivia
Torrid love interest.
Random facts (whatever I can pull from my memory on short notice):
- Introduced Nick to The Beatles, TS Eliot, Owen Wilson. Obviously these are ranked in ascending order of importance.
- Co-inventor of renowned game “Count Usher’s Lines in The Faculty”
- Gave Nick Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, which probably warrants her some special place in the inner circles of hell.
- Broke up with Nick (one of several times) on his birthday. Has subsequently claimed not to remember this.
- Was given entire shelf of Orson Scott Card paperbacks, purchased at a go from [Spectator]. Don’t recall if the counter guy said anything. Was probably drunk that day1. This included some of Card’s obscure good works, such as, The Worthing Saga, but also some of Card’s obscure utter shit, such as, Hart’s Hope. And possibly Lovelock, god help us all.
- Was first of several to be given copies of [Youth in Revolt]. Nick has given this book away several times, and has never actually owned a copy of his own.
- Recently participated in the Sci Fi Porn Star extravaganza.
- Quotes:
- Exes cannot be friends. Not real friends.
With the notable exception of Nick. But I think that’s just because I can’t continually muse over my relationship with Nick because I have forgotten large portions of it. Allow me to rephrase: since Nick and I didn’t talk for a really really really long time after we broke up, I never had the chance to repeat scenes from the past over and over and over again in my head. Dwelling on exes needs a trigger and since I didn’t talk to Nick for like five years, there was no trigger. That sounds bad but in reality its a blessing for all involved.
- If you ever want to get laid, you should probably urge me to “let you run it in the hole.”
