For bag nerds, or just people who like patches, I rounded up some vendors that sell fun patches. (If you have suggestions for other folks who make cool non-fashy patches let me know)

A load-bearing part of American ideology is the false belief that, if you personally are not able to prevent an atrocity from happening, it doesn't stain your conscience or weigh down your soul, even if it's done in your name and with your money by someone you voted for.

This is NOT to say that people should indulge in displays of white guilt, by the way. That doesn't help anyone or expiate anything. But we can't math away our implication in genocide.

Asking for future me, present me doesn't have enough spare executive function to act on this:

are there any particularly good options for managed fediverse hosting for a single user instance of any non-shitty mastodon alternative that supports posting in markdown?

(the markdown bit is important. obviously no chuds)

The worst thing about trying to keep up with cohost folks via RSS is that it's very difficult to avoid folks sharing content from some of the worst cohost people

I would really like to never see content from (redacted) again after the way that person behaved on Cohost but that's not an achievable goal without dropping a bunch of folks I want to keep up with.

Newsblur does have keyword filtering implemented well for post titles, but it doesn't give me a way to filter based on the destination of outgoing links, which is what I would need.
