Bloody Mary
- V8 (Some people don’t like V8, and would logically substitute tomato juice per se. I used one of those large plastic bottles to make a substantial pitcher.)
- Tabasco (Enough. This is, for us, more than it is for most people.)
- Tamari. (Tamari is a kind of soy sauce. Use sparingly. This sort of takes the place of worcestershire. But in a goo dway.)
- A little powdered garlic. (I would seriously consider substituting Montreal Steak Seasoning.)
- Half a lemon. (Or so.)
- Some brine from a jar of sweet cherry peppers. (A little more than you think is sane.)
- About half a Clausthaler per serving. (Clausthaler is a really, really good nonalcoholic beer. Obviously a purist would be looking for vodka here, but my family is largely underage or possessed of a few bad experiences, if you know what I mean. The carbonation actually goes very well with the combined flavors.)
